iPhone 5 support in new Mercs - using Lightning to 30-pin Adapter
Just received my Lightning to 30-pin Adapter (in the UK), and tested it in my 2012/13 CLS63.
Media Interface still works perfectly with the iPhone 5, displaying all albums + covers as before. Of course, it also charges perfectly too.
Was worried about this, so glad all is okay!
Hope that's helpful to some of you. Will test in my 2012 ML too just to be sure.

Sorry guys, been abroad, the adaptor is the official Apple one:
http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MD...30-pin-adapter
This of course just fits on your usual media interface iPod lead, and works exactly as the old iPhones/iPods would have worked with comand, to see pics, please see the thread of my CLS:

I think the only feature that I've found that doesn't function with the adaptor is the video from iPhone. Album covers and everything else mentioned in the above thread is intact for the iPhone 5.

Can't you just do everything via Bluetooth?
I have my phone and iPod directly via Bluetooth wireless. Everything works perfectly. I simply charge my i5 with a lightning to USB cable in the lighter port.

Good to hear about this.
Sound quality degrades noticeably using bluetooth. Though it depends on how picky you are regarding this.

You don't get the album covers/coverflow that you do when wired up. Personally I absolutely love the look of this. Shame it doesn't happen via bluetooth.

Bit of an old thread I'm digging up here, but I was hoping you guys could give some clarification.
My new C Class was delivered yesterday and I wanted to connect my iPhone 5 to it. The manual states to connect via the USB connection in the central console. I tried this but an error message stated that the USB device in unreadable. Next I connected it using the Apples lightning to 30 pin adapter, but I get the same error message. Looking on Mercedes website, it says that the iPhone 5 is compatible but that I also need an cable - A0028272104.
Went to the local Mecedes dealer hoping to pick up the cable and was told that it is not compatible with iPhones. So not sure which is correct.
I've been able to stream music via BT, but I'd rather have the full control that a direct connection would allow.
Thanks
