Just put winter tires on
I got a new set of rims and installed Pirelli Sottozero II 255-35-19 on the four wheels. It's not very cold and there's no snow yet here but the traction is much better than my oem conti, even if the rear tires are narrower. I have been so annoyed with traction lately (the tune doesn't help), these conti will have to go next Spring. With the winter tires, I can't corner as aggressively as before (the sidewalls are softer) but I gained two notches in comfort in addition to traction.
My only frustration is that I couldn't find narrower rims for the rear that fit the car so I had to go with a brand new set of oem rims (different model than the PP rims that came with the car though)...more dough than I wanted to pay to winterize the car...those guys are thieves.

I realized I never posted a picture of my winter wheels. I think they are the winter version (narrower ) of the non-pp oem rims. Although not as fancy as my pp wheels, the overall look of the car seems to be more balanced in some way. The rims are less see through which gives a different effect, more refined maybe?
