KW lowering kit + Hankook v12= very rough ride quality?

Hi guys,
I recently just lowered my 12 cls with the KW coilovers.
I am running 20" wheels with Hankook v12s, i believe same setup as Vic.
After, the lowering i noticed that the ride quality turns out to be very rough. when going over bumps and rough roads, the car is very very bumpy, especially in the backseats.. (feels like riding in the G55 AMG)
Is it always like this, when we lower our cars? or is it because my tires? or because the installation of the kit?
because a friend of mine is running same setup as me, except he is using Michellin PS2s..

Thanks!

R uruning only sleeve on front and link on the rear .? So rear should stay the same , i am going to use H&R spring ( not sleeve ) on front , just alittle stiffer than stock and use link . One more thing, your CLS is PP , thats why , PP shokes stiffer than normal cls

As you increase metal and reduce rubber you will inheritantly gain more road feedback. I ran 20x9 and 20x11 with 255x30 and 305x25 tires and felt more road because of it. But this is expected since your profile has been reduced. As mentioned above, what is your psi in the tires. I ran about 38 all the way around cold. I had no increased expected discomfort. The Kooks are relatively soft so I cant see it being them.

The bumpy part should not occur- that is more part of the suspension and how low you went. I was dropped pretty good but not slammed.

So how low are you?? My front was about 1/2 finger above the tire along with the rear.

Drives Slowly
I think the ride with my KW coilovers is very jarring. Unfortunately, I had them installed before the car was delivered to me so I have no good reference. I am running stock tires and 10f/15r spacers. I'm taking mine back to the dealership to have things checked out.

I have the KW sleeve kit (and rolling on stocks for now) and my car drives great. No noticeable differences for me.

I remember my car on stock wheels and the KW kit- no issues either.... and it was dropped nicely. The PP shocks should create a tighter more controlled compression and rebound even when not compressed at regular height.

Now my wagon was another story as it didnt have the PP shocks and I dropped it a little too much (maybe a 1/2 inch too much) and it had the bouncy rear. A simple minor raise eliminated that issue.

Same here. I'm still running stock wheels on KW right now and it feels stiffer but as mentioned on a previous thread by Vic55 the KW is more compliant to bad roads IMO. KW links dropped the rear too low -- it rides really really stiff / bouncy, so I got it adjusted with 1 finger gap all around and it rides way better. Mine is PP btw..

This. To the OP, you might have to raise your car but need to see pics first of course.
