Anyone here race their M157 on Drag Radials?

I need help/suggestions on how to get my 2012 E63 w/ RENNtech tune & BMC filters to launch better. I'm running the MT 265/40/18 DR's and can't get better than a 1.81 60'. I'm not spinning at all it's actually just bogging and/or not putting enough power to the wheels to get a better 60'. I've tried the following 3 methods of launching without any success:
1)Foot-braking anywhere from idle to ~2000rpms with traction OFF using S+
2)RACESTART
3)Foot-braking anywhere from idle to ~2000rpms in Dyno Mode using S+

I would imagine I should be able to pull 1.6x 60's on the drag radials. Any advice from people who have achieved ~1.6x 60's or better themselves in their M157 would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

i think Renntech got it better with 100% LSD.

your time is great for a tuned only car.

100% locking LSD would help a lot. I have it from Renntech and its amazing. Also - When we installed this there was a lot of silver in the oil...I was chewing threw my stock 30% locking LSD.

With a bit of a better 60' youll be in the 10s as im sure you know.. But 1.82 does seem kind of slow for your car on drag radials..

I ran my CLS on DRs, but 315/30/18. About the same 60' as you got. It was my first time running on DRs and I only got in 2 runs that night. From what I understand running on them is a bit of an art and requires proper setup like pressure and tire temp in addition to launch technique.

I have a set of Hoosier 315/30/18 drag radials. 18 inch Momo wheels. The car is around 770HP (Kleemann K3) at the crank and Qualife LSD.
I got the best result with the following Method:
Foot-braking anywhere from idle to ~2000rpms with traction Sport Mode using S+
once you launch the car don't put the accelerator too hard unless the revs reach 3000rpms, once you get over 3000rmps press the accelerator way down to the bottom. The M157 tuned engines have 1000nm+ so in the first gear if you press the accelerator hard with traction control off you will have wheel spin and will end up with 12sec time. The best result I got for the quarter mile was 10.9sec.

Has anyone tried running the car in Dyno Mode just to make sure no electronic nannies are at play?

Lenny from RENNtech told me they managed their best time in Dyno mode

2012 CLS 63 Drag Radials

Hi,

Does anyone have any feedback on whether a 285/35/19 Mickey Thompson Street SS Drag radial will work using the stock 10" rim? It is 26.9 OD as opposed top the stock tire (285/30/19) of 25.8"

Right Now I run a 11.6 to 11.8 with a 2.0 to 2.2 60 foot at 6000 foot altitude

Thanks!!

Reading this thread makes me understand why so many of the M157 E63 guys are pissed in the other forum.

The slow launch thing is symptomatic of the tranny and the way MB decided to program it all in....such a shame. Could have been a worthy successor to the legendary 55-series cars, but alas the 5.5TT platforms were more of a side-step, thanks to the tranny design.

You just need a trans tune, You are correct the torque management in the trans hurts the 60ft times
