Beta Testing New Mercedes Biturbo Exhaust. Need Your Input.
Hey Guys,
My car was recently test fitted with a new Switzer (yes the GTR and Porsche tuner) cat-back exhaust. I was contacted by them to see if they could use my car to test/fit a prototype system for the Mercedes Biturbo. They wanted to get my input as well as others regarding their new exhaust before they produce a final product. The dyno showed that the exhaust alone added 30hp and 50 ft-lbs of torque to my PP CLS63. The sound it makes is deeper and about 50% louder than stock.....get on it and it sounds spectacular. Also, no highway drone was noted. What do you guys think about the appearance and the sound of this set-up? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Sorry for the poor video but at least it gives you an idea of the sound. BTW, this system is not for sale yet and I have no affiliation with Switzer. http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/115/img5034f.jpg http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/3986/img9213n.jpg http://img801.imageshack.us/img801/4396/dsc01958v.jpg http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/3102/dsc01959vf.jpg Bad Video: |

the best sound that is not noisy and no drone i have heard on these cars are a stright bolt to bolt down pipe and keeping the resonator and muffler stock.

I was also head service manager at Crown MB as my first job 18 years ago. He's probably more well known down here than up there. :p: Great guy. |

Nice to see companies from GT-R world doing their work on CLS63
Sounds nice Rock :y |
Love the sound. Don't know if I like the exhaust tips better the OEM ones.

Exhaust sounds good even though we would need better quality videos with something like a gopro.
I am not a fan at all of the catback exhaust tips and I see no need to spend money on this. The OEM look really good and distinctive and downpipes are the way to go. |
I like all that Switzer offers for Pcars and GTR's--- this exhaust seems to create what they are after: power.
The only thing I dont like is the way the pipes stick too far out. If you can shift the pipes in more under the diffuser I would call this exhaust a win all day. |

personally I dont like the square exhaust tips....somehow throws off the rear of the car. I would sooner put on a burnt-tip round exhaust tip than a square one
|
Switzer told me they took some before and after vids. I will post them soon.

Will listen to the video when I get home later on, but must agree with Vic. Tips look a lil "out there". Taking them in a bit and they would be spot on!
Some great power of the exhaust! :y |

That is the first thing I noticed when I saw the car. They are aware of this issue and it sounds like they will revise and retract the tips. I think they may also offer the option for different styled tips.

I think the reason it being too far out is because they wanted that engraved Switzer logo to be seen. I think they need to move it where it is near the end of the exhaust tips like AMG does, so that it can be tucked in under the diffuser and still see the logo. Definitely agree with Vic though. Sounds good and unique exhaust tips.

Nope. :( I used to get my MBs from Crown obviously but they sent what was supposed to be my SLS to L.W. instead making me wait for the "next one". Since then I only deal with Bennie at Germain. Both Crown and Germain have a handful of good quality techs but none are SLR cert. |
i have heard on these cars are a stright bolt to bolt down Showbox jiofi.local.html tplinklogin pipe and keeping the resonator and muffler stock.
