19 inch aftermarket wheel options

Help needed. Received my car recently and wanted to change the wheels. I know most of the guys on the forum are running 20's and initially I was about to order a set. Until my local HRE dealer advised me that there isn't a set of 20 inch tyres available in our size (255/30/20 & 305/25/20) that meets the minimum load rating requirements. In Australia it's illegal to drive on tyres that that have a lower load rating than the stock tyres which are 96 (710kg) front and 98 (750 kg) rear.

Hence why I've resorted back to 19 inch wheels. Need suggestions on which suit. I can't seem to find too many photos of 218's with 19's. Appreciate the feedback.

Congrats on the new ride.
HRE, ADV1, Strasse, Vossen, Klassen are just a few names of wheel manufacturers for our Benz.
A quick search will lead you to their site where you can browse to your liking.
The guys with 20s have been putting Hankook. Check it out before you settle for 19s.

I have Hankooks in those exact sizes. But I live in the US. I also used to run 20s in 265/30 and 295/25 with Michelin PSS.

Thanks guys. Unfortunately the Hankooks (92 Front/97 rear) and PSS (94/95) have load ratings that are too low. I think I've looked at every tyre and none are high enough. So unless a manufacturer decides to make a new tyre with higher ratings (very unlikely) I'm stuck with 19's.

So I need help deciding which 19 inch wheel will look the 'largest'. I've narrowed my choices down to HRE P40SC, HRE P44SC and ADV5.21. I think the HRE P40SC design looks smallest, and the ADV look largest. I found some pics for comparison. ADV, P40SC & P44SC.

Appreciate your opinions.

I'd advise away from ADV.1/////as they're a bunch of lackies and yes men all towing the company line......

HRE is where to go, the one's you mentioned will be awesome.....

We suggest either HRE, Modulare Forged, or PUR Forged. Let us know if you would like a price quote.

Thank you

We would be more than happy to build you any of our wheel styles in any finish you would like for your CLS63 AMG in a 19" fitment.

Please visit the Strasse Forged Wheel Collection for pictures of all our current wheel styles available.

I drool over the SM7 you made for that M5. I think they would look sweet on a CLS.

LOL Thank you for the kind words!

We're building a few sets of wheels for the W218 CLS so I'll be sure to post some pics once we get the shoots!

Thanks for all the input. I've decided on the HRE P44SC but not sure on specs. My local HRE dealer suggested the following for a flush with fender look:.

19x9 et 25 front with 255/35/19
19x11 et 44 rear with 305/30/19

What do you think about offsets. I know Vic55 used to have et 25 front and et 35 rear on his CLS.

I'm planning to use the Contis as I can reuse the front as its pretty much brand new.

If you haven't decided already, this look would be great for the black CLS ...

Naturally monoblock, custom made forged set for your application is an option, so are tons of finishing options. Just in case you wanna check out the alternatives.
