Weistec and Shift S3ctors' Airstrip Attack
Just wanted to take a moment to thank Weistec for the amazing results I had at this weekends’ Shift S3ctor Airstrip Attack. In the half mile from a dig I trapped 164.59 which I believe was the fastest AMG at the event. My car currently has their upgraded turbos, downpipes, cooling mods and ice tank and I was running on stock rims with Toyo 888s. In addition, at a dyno event I attending a couple of weeks prior, I hit 707/816 in 90 degrees running a mix of California's 91 crap and MS109.
Outside of the amazing car, the track support they provided was second to none hooking me up me with race gas, ice and adjusting my tune throughout the day. Steve, Mike and their crew are not only are great at what they do but are real fun to hang with as well.
I don’t often post these days but with the results I had and the support they provided I just had to share with the community.
IMHO you just can’t go wrong with these guys.
Our goal for the next half mile event will be 170 and I know we can do it.
To Steve, Mike and the Crew…thank you thank you thank you

Wow, impressive numbers. I assume that is at the wheels. I just talked to them last week and they were also very helpful on the phone with my bogdown and burnout issue and I am not even a customer yet. Awesome guys.

Yep at the wheels and it was 90 degrees out plus most thought the dyno was reading low. I have the file for the dyno sheet but I'm a Mac guy and DynoJet only has the file for PCs. I'll figure it out and get it up soon.

As part of customer support, we data logged many of our customers cars to make sure they were running well and we saw about a 15 degree Celsius drop in temp with our cooling package compared to a stock cooling system, and almost 35 degree Celsius drop in temp with our cooling system when running ice. Please feel free to let us know if you would like more information on this. Thank you!

Hey Jason it was nice meeting you and your car is a beast. The guys from Weistec are very helpful and they take good care of their customers. My car trapped 160MPH with race tune on MS109 but I'm not sure one of the people in event told me because they weren't taking the trap speed at the end of the event my official trap is 159MPH

Thanks for the info. I believe MB made a change on their cooling system in 2013 related to splitting the system. Can you expand on how different your system is compared to the new OEM system.
I guess the larger intercooler placed in a better spot would be a major improvement. I am not a track junkie so not interested in filling up my trunk with a tank.

Hello Emericr, he is running our off the shelf

I was kinda disappointed with how my car runs -- I think I'm only good on the first two runs, then it got worse.. I only trap 144.96 best and Eric (xtyper) was trapping 156mph I believe, he is fast too. I seriously don't know what is wrong with the tune or is it my car -- Steve was telling me intake temperature was too high.

The trunk tank is mounted in the spare tire well and does not take up trunk space. It is also great to put some weight behind the tires as well. You can add water once and forget about it. Those who track the car can add if needed.

Hey Faris, good to see you at Shift S3ctor. Your car was definitely fast! They weren't taking the trap speed at the end because the far lane trap speed recorder was broken.

Hi E-SICKTY3 it was great to finally meet you at the event. You have a very nice CLS! We were very limited on time and tools at the event to take care of the issue however we would be happy to take a look at it if you are in the area. Please let us know and we will definitely take care of you! It could be a bad factory intercooler water pump which is causing the temperatures to rise. Thank you!

This is a bit vague. When I was there on Saturday Steve told me you guys have all the tools needed to make a change or fix the issue -- now you are telling me you have limited tools. Seriously, this issue starts to irritate me. You expect me to drive another 380miles just for this issue? I drove to your facility to get it tuned at first, then sent back the ECU to get the issue fixed but I still get the same result on the dyno sheet. You guys should have fixed the issue the 2nd time or at Shift S3ctor.
