I have bought the rear bumper of face-lift model for my 2012 CLS63. Does it require the tail light upgrade too? Please share your experience.

You would be better off selling your car and buying a new one.
It will be incredibly expensive to update the front (hood, lights, bumper) and it will devalue your car. I would not recommend it. |
I prefer the 2012 look myself, but hey, more power to you...
the refresh looks great IMO, very sleek |
i replaced the front bumper and side skirts of my cls350 2012 model with the facelift ones.
fitment 100%. i am now planning to replace the rear bumper. wondering if the diffuser needs replacement as well |

The sides of the diffusor are a bit shorter. I would get a new diffusor it doesn't cost much. It might be a different situation with CLS350 models. On the top of it I believe you must change the tail lights too. There is a same problem as it is with upgrading the 2012 w212 to facelift version. There is a gap between tail lights and the bumper. you can find some cheap parts in Poland in you live in Europe try Allegro pl web site |
Thanks a lot for sharing this.
Do you have any images of the rear tail lights gap ? |
Would love to see if the face-lifted headlights can be plug and play with the existing wiring and if fitment is on point without changing the front bumper.
|
Apparently I'm in the minority here, but I love the fact that the "old headlights" distinguish the CLS compared to the new style that makes the C, E, CLS and S blend together. Am I crazy?
|
^no, not crazy :)
I prefer them as well...... they were the worlds first all LED headlamps too if I recall |

Sweet very nice!
How did you deal with led light in the prefacelift bumper? If you remove them, dont you end up with an error message? Looks really good! |
Thanks. Added a 50w 60ohms resistor on both sides. No error messages. Sideskirts are from cls63amg perfect fit as well
|

Any reason you chose the Amg style front instead of the Amg Modell front though? |
It is the original amg model specific cls350 2015 bumper. Since my car is not cls63 amg i prefer to have it oem look instead of something that its not.
|
^good man!
I just noticed there are no side markers either :) |
How much are the side skirts? Did you get parts from the dealer directly?
|
got all parts directly from the dealer
cost of side skirts and alum trim 900 euro |
