2015 CLS63 AMG vs AMG S ?
Hi guys!
I'm about to place my order for a new CLS63 AMG 4matic, the main question now is if I should decide myself for a normal AMG or the S Model. When I asked my dealer, he replied things like "buying the normal AMG model is like being half pregnant". But when I'm looking at the differents, they are (for me personally) not worth about 15'000$ more at the end. Is it true, that it is necessary to buy the S model because it's a lot better than the normal AMG or is the not-S sufficient?
And a second question, how many HP does a CLS AMG 63(s) on the dyno?
Thanks and greetings from Europe!

S Model does not equate to 4matic in Europe right? You can get a 4matic but non S and S but non 4matic correct?
Anyways, the SModel in my opinion is quite minor. It's just a tune, some badging, lit door sills, and red brake calipers in the US. However, we need the SModel in order to get certain options such as the Carbon Ceramic Brakes. If you don't care for the fancier options and you're going to tune the car anyways, then in my opinion S isn't really worth it, strictly from a money standpoint.

Thanks for the answers! At the end, I configurated & ordered a fully black (with nightpackage) AMG S coupe will get it in august, can't wait!!
Here in europa there are three types for the CLS AMG
1) normal AMG
2) normal AMG 4matic
3) AMG S 4matic
So the S model is just available with the 4matic.

2012 CLS63
I have recently discovered the joy of burnouts wouldn't want a 4M with that much HP, unless I was trying to get fast race times I guess

Yeah, I totaly understand your point! But 4matic is a must have for me, for the reason alone of the snow here and that the car should be ready to drive during the whole year. It also should be a safe businesscar. The 4matic is 2/3 backwheel 1/3 front in europa, I think that's perfect for me. If I want to, it's possible to be nasty, but not all the time. I just want a fast and good looking car with a good grip for cruising around, and of course that lovely AMG sound! Anyway, the S model isn't even available here without the 4matic. The 4m was also a reason, that I choose the CLS63 over the M6 Gran Coupe!
Back to my question about the dyno. I read that even the 2012 555HP CLS63 has about 610 PS. So the S model should have in reality about 650/660HP ?! Is this true, were some of you guys already on the dyno?
Thanks!

2014 E63S; AMS 100 octane ecu tune; edok tcu tune; BB intakes; dyno tuned
Motortrend got approx 650-670bhp for the 2014 e63S (same engine and tune as cls63S) depending on how much you estimate the drivetrain loss to be on a 4 matic car
It was 550whp and 500wtq
For a 4450lb car
