Definitely intrigued, I've had the first gen CLS, second gen CLS (currently). Love to see the upcoming third gen change the 4 door game the same way the first gen when it was shown in 2005.
I think its scheduled to be a MY 17 / 18 model so about a year and a half away I assume.

That teaser photo of the Mercedes Concept IAA sure has a refreshing muscular lines to it. The actual released photos have some weird details like that extending rear end that reminds me of a roach releasing its egg packet. Nevertheless, the overall lines are still refreshing and MB should work them onto something like the future CLS.
Of course, I read somewhere this design was headed by a designer who was with Audi. So maybe that's where the lines of S7/RS7 come from. Hey no complain here--S7/RS7 is perhaps the best design in the current Audi lineups. I wouldn't mind MB reworking that design and put a 3 pointed star on it.
So all these concept on the electric/hybrid models?!?!...Any news on that e-benzine technology by Audi?!?! That should be the biggest news of the century for the petrol heads!!!...Creating gasoline out of air and water!!! Forget about all these hybrid/electric/lithium battery nonsense if the e-benzine technology is widely available and price is worked down--we're talking about the good old loud and proud internal combustion and large displacement naturally aspirated engine. Oh yes, OPEC will never allow that to happen...never mind.

Yes, built in spikes that protrude out, on demand, via the active wheel mechanism would turn the car into those chariots out of Ben-Hur or one of those 007 cars.
