Crowdsource to sell or not to sell 12cls63amg
Ladies and Gents,
Need some help.
Just had a new baby, love my AMG but feel a GLS or other SUV may be a better fit for now.
The CLS sits in the garage with a car cover on it. I have two other vehicles and a few motorcycles; I can keep the CLS but could use the garage space and it would offset the expense of a new suv, hate to see it sitting.
I have another house 200 miles away and just can't stomach using the CLS to commute; so we haul the family in a GMC 2500 diesel, a little rough riding for the fam and I've been in the truck all week.
What would you guys do?
sell, trade, keep

Congrats on the newbie and welcome to the forums!
Years ago when I had my first child I was debating between the CLS and an E class.........I went with the E because of backseat ease....but always wished I had gotten the CLS........
Time went by and I did get a CLS and it wasn't as bad as I though for transporting a child.....I got used to it pretty quickly.....I still had the E class too......now I have an S and the CLS does sit a lot, but I have been trying to drive it more.......
Guess what I'm trying to say is the CLS63, especially the 2012, is a badass car I'd keep it. I'd also think about getting off the bikes now that you're a Dad.....you never know with all the crazies out there how safe you'll be.....but that's just me haha......kids are expensive

Thanks guys.
Great advice, for now I am keeping the CLS.
They are just incredible machines asteically and from an engineering standpoint.
Drove an Infinity this weekend, way too much bling and wanna be stuff; actually overwhelming and takes away from the driving experience.
I guess automakers wants to keep you entertained and distracted because you can't hear or feel the rumble of 500 plus ponies wanting to run.
BTW- thanks for the Navy acknowledgment, been out for a few years now, but still love our country and service members and damn proud of it.
Not to get political but, no country is perfect and never will be but it sure does appear we are doing better than most!
So love your country and those that protect it, accept its few flaws, treat your fellow man or woman with a little respect and be freaking accountable and life starts to make a little more sense.... darn. was that political? oh well!

I also see, aside from the headroom difference in the back being a bit less, the CLS seems to have as much legroom and width as the E if im not mistaken.
Was it because you liked the exterior styling alot more?

RWD with big power is always fun. Drive her, enjoy her, and keep her maintained.

I have 80k on mine..haha. If you seen it you would never know. Plus it just got about 25k worth of work done to it, turbos/trans/meth/etc...Always overly maintained. Just got paint corrected and ceramic coated. If you take care of them they will last a long time and stay in great condition. Sadly we are going to finally sell her. Too many cars in the garage (7), so need to get rid of her to replace her with something else....

compared to what I bought it for a year ago prices have dropped and then the fact ive put a bunch of miles... the current value makes me want to keep it but i also dont want a high mileage amg I would rather get rid of it around 85k or 90k and get a 2014 e63 or CLS

Thank you for reassuring me I'm not an idiot for driving and enjoying mine so much it has 70k miles now I put a lot of care and money into my car its still running great i was planning on putting 10k to 15k more miles on it before selling it but after looking today how much theyre going for at 80k miles and up... i was about to cry

And yes I agree about the value of the car with higher miles. Sucks, but sometimes thats how the cookie crumbles for us. haha. I'd be happy getting 40 for mine. So take away the 25k or so I just put into her, thats only 15 for the car hahaha!
