Alternator Replacement
I've wrenched on every car I've ever owned and the alternator is usually one of the easiest things to replace. Not so much on this car. I've got the fan off, belt off, 2 mounting bolts, all the covers from under the engine including the plate over the steering pump, and alternator unplugged. The thing will not come out at all. I've gotten the bottom of it to come off its bolt holes with a pry bar, and the upper front tab is off, but the back upper area is not moving and the whole thing will not pull out the front. What am I doing wrong? I can hardly see anything in there so it's tough to see what's going on in there. Who puts the alternator under the freaking turbos?
