Jerky transmission...

Especially in reverse when it’s cold. Is it a function of the wet clutch? I’ve experienced the jerkiness in single clutch autos but not really to this extent. And more so that the engage clunkily. This almost feels like slip. Is this normal?

Yes - my 2012 CLS 63 does this... I think it's normal for this drive train. I guess it's the price for the quick full throttle upshifts.

really appreciate the response. Makes me feel better.

And yeah...love those upshifts. My wife tried to test me, last night, in her M4. It wasn’t pretty after I got some traction. 😏

a transmission adaptation should fix this at least for a while. and make sure your transmission services are up to date such as fluid and filter change and make sure the drain the torque converter when they do. I've done all of this and it is way less jerky, but still jerky so its true that its somewhat a characteristic of the wet clutch setup

these cars have virtually no turbo lag. They do however have Mercedes induced pedal lag but neither are responsible for jerky transmission shifts
