Downsizing to 18's for the winter

I know most of you guys will think i'm crazy. But I live in NYC where the streets get horrible during the winters. I was wondering if anyone has successfully run 18s on their car. I do not have the carbon brakes and have heard it may work. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Erik

The best or nothing
I wouldn't put 18" on the CLS and I wouldn't put 20" on either because the car is designed to drive on 19". I think 18" might be too small over the brakes anyway.
