OK so can someone tell me exactly how to even get at the bulbs? I am talking parking lights.

Hey Fellas,

So i attempted to replace my parking lights and low beams today. I was able to replace the right low beams with some luck; tough to see in there w/ limited space. How did you guys remove the parking bulb? I couldn't get my fingers in far enough to get a good grip on those bulbs. Did you remove the entire light housing?

The left side has even less room so I gave up all together. I figured it would be best to take it to an independent MBZ repair shop thinking they would probably remove the housing and make it an easy install. If you guys have some tips, it would be greatly appreciated.

Remove the cap and using yr fingers to pull out the bulb not the wires with care. Been using the parking light of this brand, the bulb doesnt last long though.

Right, I tried that. Remove cap, remove hi beam bulb and reach in there to get at the parking bulbs. I had a buddy try as well and there's not enough space to get a good grip on the bulbs to pull them out.

Has anyone tried removing the light housing all together? I tried the other day by removing the two main bolts that you see when you pop the hood. The housing would not come out and it appears that there is another hidden bolt holding the housing down underneath the bumper. I'm going to try to remove the bumper next to see what the deal is but if the bulbs burn out quick I can see how this would be a pain.

On my CL, I used a small flat-head screwdriver to help pry the bulbs loose. Once you get them started ,they come out fairly easily.

I did have a rather strange problem, though. I used these (17 LED error free), which are very bright and give good lens fill. Although I didn't get errors for the parking lights being out, I did occasionally get errors for the sidemarkers (W5W filament bulbs) being out. Not sure why this was happening, I took the LED's out and put the filament bulbs back in. Has anybody else experienced something like this?

For the people saying they don't last long, do you use your high beams often? I wonder if the heat from the high beams could cause premature failure.

ive had mine in since july and i have them on everytime i drive day or night (i drive with my hid fogs on so i have to have the city lights on as well) and i have had 0 problems

Nope hardly used high beam on my ride. Its burn out after installed it for only less than 3 months. When u took it out after a month or so, did u realise that the LED like kinda of blacken or burnt out? the resistor soldering show sign of crack etc.

These front part and back part lights are installed nicely. Very good models.

No, I didn't notice any visible signs of damage, but I also didn't use my high beams much while I had them in. I also have LED's from the same seller in my license plate lights, and they've been working fine for a couple of months.

What about the interior light (dome light) ? does anyone change those to LED ? I forgot how many set that I bought they are all flickering.

Are the lights on when you start your car? The voltage fluctuations from starting the car can kill LED's prematurely.

how good of a match were these to your 6000ks? i have a cls with 6000k low and fogs and wanna get rid of that damn yellow. but only if they match really good.

They are 6K:s so they match!
My low beam is still 4300k (stock) + fog (yellow) ,. will change the fogs to 6K leds in a week and change the low beam to 6K in a while too.

But I am really happy about the plate-lights, its perfect, not to blue as many are and absolutly not yellow. And they are also bright - not too bright.

+1 Same here everything looks awesome. City lights are a pain to get in though. Try removing your intake tubes for more room if you plan on doing it.

btw is it simple to change the stock xenon to 6000k xenon? comparing to the city light?

Changing the low beams are a breeze in comparison to the parking bulbs. The right head light is much easier if I remember correctly. After removing the cap you'll need to twist the ballast off and then feel around for the two wire prongs that hold the bulb in place. When installing the new bulb take a good look at where the bulb needs to go as your hand will block your view. Once it's in snap the two prong stems back in to place then twist the ballast back on. Remember to reconnect the wire that goes to the ballast. All this must be accomplished by feel instead of sight. Took me about 15 minutes to do each side.

The other side may require you to move a box that is in the way (I can't remember if it was the brake fluid box). You can just remove a few screws that hold it in place to move it over a bit giving you a bit more room to work with. Good luck.

Those are the right LEDs. As for the fogs I got them from a sponsor on here "hidextra" check out the group buy section.

Were the fogs H7 or H11 bulbs?

Also for anyone who changed the city lights themselves, how do you get the bulb out of the housing? Do you just pull or do you have to twist first?
