whistling sound on cls55

2006 cls55
whistling sound on cls55

I have 06 cls 55 when my foot is on the brake and I release my foot off the peddle whistling sound comes from the front of the car for about a second or two, any ideas thanks.

What you're hearing is probably common brake squeal... Most of the time, it's perfectly normal with today's high-performance semi-metallic (hard) brake pads. Some may experience it every now and then, while others never do. It's just the nature of the beast...

You should however keep on eye on your rotors for cracks and or uneven surface wear, which can cause all sorts of brake noise. Broken, worn, or loose (sometimes caliper related) brake pads can also be responsible for squealing noises.

Check everything, and if all looks good, then you really shouldn't have much to worry about, well at least from the brake end of things...

Now on the other hand, if the sound is not actually brake related, then you may want to have a specialist check your MB out. With components such as the airmatic system, and onslaught of electronic gizmos and gadgets under the hood, there's many places that can generate whistle like sounds...
