Hi chaps.... got a problem with my baby.... its driving me mad!!!!

The battery went flat as i leaft the lights on overnight

so i jump started the car and it fired up fine.... no warning lights or malfunction warnings

so i drove it for a few hours everything was fine

on my way home and i was parked at a set of traffic lights,pulled of nice and easy and all of a sudden i lost complete power to the instrumnet cluster and front climate control unit..... even the speed and rev needles have stopped working.

so i nursed it home and booked it in with my local merc dealership.... the service advisor ran a quick diagnostics and noticed that the fuse was blown... so he replaced it.... as soon as he turned the ignition on the fuse blew again!!!!!

now the car is in the dealership and wont be seen to until friaday!!!!

any ideas of what the problem is? the car is out of warrenty.... its the 1st problem that ive had with the car. its a late 2005 with 40k mile on the clock
