keep the seven speed tranny, send it out to renntech to have it built so it'll take that 55k motors torque all day long

Hi guys. Getting ready to do some tranny work soon. Some say keep the 7 speed, but it's been so long without ESP and ABS. Installing the 5 speed would allow me to have ABS and ESP again. I've been researching building my 7 speed, and it can definitely be done.
Is the 7 speed really worth keeping vs obtaining ABS and ESP ?

if you're gonna go nuts with a car why not go all out, get a transmission, transfer case, diff, axles and oil pan from a 4matic CLS and have an all wheel drive 55 AMG powered hotrod. the regular 500 oil pan fit so the 4matic pan shouldent be much different except an axle goes thru the sump.and you wont need esp after that lol

Just converted to the big 8 piston calipers and the 360mm two piece rotors.

List of parts needed:

AMG 8 piston calipers
003-420-32-83 right
003-420-31-83 left

Two piece 360mm x 36mm rotors (or the cheaper one piece rotor )
219-421-02-12

Right and left front knuckle
211-330-67-20 right
211-330-66-20 left

The front knuckle for the CLS500 and CLS55 look identical, except for the mounting holes on the cls55 version. The holes are slightly bigger. You can buy used knuckles online using the part numbers above, or bore out the mounting holes on your existing knuckles to accept the slightly larger bolt to mount the 8 piston calipers.

They look good, and feel even better
