Thanks bro! Money-one helped me take it apart, then I took all the parts to the polisher.
The old supercharger oil is some nasty stuff man! Smells like a dead animal! So I'm happy that I got the chance to change that as well. When the 55 cars were produced and sold they said that the SC oil never needed to be changed, but I think if the car is driven to is max on a regular basis then it should be changed eventually.

Thanks bro! Your V12 project is also legendary. Money-one (Jake) wanted me to do a V12 at first, but I was too afraid to try it. Lol!
Once you get everything running the way you want it, I'm sure you will have a blast dressing up your motor. It would be nice to get both cars together for pics.

Waiting for the Cherry Blossom in DC. Hiring a Photogropher to take some photos down there soon.

Totally late to the party but... I'm reading this on a Saturday, and it may be better than being drunk on multiple bottles Lafite Rothschild. Inspired, and good to know it's possible. Been searching for a E55T for 6 months, but still loving my w210t. If push comes to shove, maybe this is a way to go.

Thanks Tony! The build was lots of fun. Good luck with your future project

I would think there should be a performance advantage with the 7 speed tranny, right? I know it can't handle as much torque as the 5 speed, but acceleration should be better. Any plans to take it to the strip?

Yes! I definitely plan to take her to the track. I've been told that there should be an advantage by having the 7 speed. I guess we will find out soon

The car feels and runs great!

My LSD was delivered today thanks to my new sponsor High End Performance. Should have it installed in a few days.

Quaife QDF9V installed

My LSD is finally installed and it works great. Install took hours, but it was well worth it. Took a few pics and a video.

Hi guys. Its been 1 year since the birth of new power in my CLS. The car still runs great, and I am getting ready to install a new 5 speed tranny this winter.
I am surprised to see that the 7 speed tranny is still holding on and working fine, but there is evidence of slight wear and tear.
I decided to celebrate my 1 year aniversary of the motor swap by taking the CLS to a car show and track event at Capital Raceway in Crofton Md. I ended up winning Best Of Show at the car show, but during the day I ran my car on the track for the first time ever! I ran twice and won both races

I ran against a nissan 350Z for the first race.
Time slip:
1/4.......12.9
MPH......108

2nd race was against a BMW 5 series
Time slip:
1/4.....13.0
MPH....107

It was really a great experience on the track today, and I will get a chance to compare the two trannys working with this motor, since I plan on returning to the track after the new tranny is installed. Motor is still bone stock, but pulley, TB, long tube headers and tune is in the works

That's not bad with all the extra weight you have there with install of your system.

Agreed. That is impressive. Bone stock. I ran a 12.6 last year in December. Let us know how it goes with the new trany and mods.

Thank you for telling me this Mercwhip. I feel even better knowing that my time was that close to yours. Am I correct in assuming that if I install most of the bolt on mods for this car that's available to us, it would result in the motor completely destroying this 7 speed tranny quickly? This is what I'm thinking, so the 5 speed will definately be installed before spring.
My good friend and technition Jake has observed early signs of wear on the 7 speed tranny. There is a random clicking sound when the car is put into reverse.
Shows us that there is a little bit of play created between the tranny and the motor.
