I had chrome Lowenhart wheels in my CLS when I first bought my CLS back in 2005, and I was teased by forum members for having them, even though they cost just as much as the wheels that I currently own.

Funny thing is that I'm actually happy that the community gave me a hard time. Gave me a chance to see that the non chrome face wheels look better on the vehicle anyway
Thanks Khe for your "straight talk" on the issue with the wheels. From what I've heard these are very $$ but they came with the car so I'm not that attached to them, but I couldn't understand the response. I've been into cars all my life, went to an elite military academy and have worked in the automotive industry where we focused on performance at all cost so the reaction was a little puzzling. I had my suspicions but now I understand. It's interesting, I never thought chrome could be so devisive. Still, I'm happy to be apart of the group, I know the fourum does set the "style" with member opinions, heck that's why we talk to get input. I'll choose the focus on the core issue-I've been in vettes, porches, ferrari's but the AMG punch on this car is as Jerremy Clarkson puts it "Epic!" & that's what binds us.

For my car 2007 W/ p030 package (factory 19" wheels). What line would you say would be good to look into if I wanted to have a slight lip all around something 5-7 starish...planning on either keeping the 19" and go wider or go 20" and still go wider. Gloss black lip with statin black center? You can pm me to keep the topic on track

I think this is all relevant to the original topic. Since he is looking for a wheel for his CLS.

I would look at the following lines for the CLS chassis.
940R Series
990R Series
790R Series
590R Series
P40 Series

991R

994R

995R

We can do different finishes for centers and outers, no problem.
Gloss black lip and satin black center is no problem. Its a really popular finish because it looks great, especially on light cars like white. If you want to do the murder out look, black on black, its a great look. On dark grey cars, it looks really good as well.

All personal preference on colors. I would recommend 20" for CLS, but of course I'm not sure what type of road conditions you have.

For extreme, Vic55 did a set of C97 (Comp Series) wheel in 20" for his E63.

Hope this helps. There's so many options.

Asanti's seem to have a lot of finish issues.
Asanti's are the main choice of guys from the hood when they seek multipiece wheels.
Asanti depreciate more than most other wheels.
Asanti has many styles that are blingy.
Asanti sounds like hip-hop star Ashanti.

They're okay I guess. I prefer Work, DPE, ADV.1, HRE, D2 and a few others.
