Thanks guys for the welcome. My favs are the renntech type wheels, these were on the car when I bought it. So I'm moving forward now, have eurocharged stage 1 cooling, ECU & 172m pulley and Kleeman headers shipped my way today. I'm looking forward to the never ending quest for more HP.

I think chrome looks good on white.
Prolly wouldn't do Asanti's though. I consider them the low-end of high-end-wheels.

Hmmm, what wheels are considered higher quality. I'm an engineer and worked for one of the leading tire companies and have put more focus on the tire than the wheel, but what can you help me understand about the wheel choices? Or is it a matter of style. I'm just curious if it's related to taste or HP as I'm hp crazy. LOL

Good Looking CLS, love it in white.

Those are some nice mods you ordered there lol. I would personally switch up the wheels too. Regardless great looking car, as long as your happy with the wheels.

Here's some pics of the interior. Wow these wheels are controversial, I had no idea. Your wheels look cool, I'm not sure on my sizes, maybe 20 x 9 in front and 20 x 11 in rear. I know back tires are 295/25/20 but don't remember fronts right off. Tires are new so when i wear these out, which from what I read may not be long, I'll move to a more aluminum type wheel, I do like having a deep lip on the back. Any recommendations?

Nice car and color, get rid of the wheels and put on some HRE's or something with less weight and your car will be faster

There's a lot of different options available for CLS out there. Let me know if there's any questions I can answer.

I think it has allot to do with taste on this forum. Asanti is a very popular wheel in urban areas. They are certainly not cheap. To be honest, I don't think anyone on this forum wants to be associated with anything branded "Ghetto". Even if it looks good. I had chrome Lowenhart wheels in my CLS when I first bought my CLS back in 2005, and I was teased by forum members for having them, even though they cost just as much as the wheels that I currently own.

Funny thing is that I'm actually happy that the community gave me a hard time. Gave me a chance to see that the non chrome face wheels look better on the vehicle anyway

The wheels design/engineering make a dramatic effect on the performance of your vehicle.

Speaking for HRE only, we design our wheels to Germany TUV standards for each vehicle application. From there we design each wheel to maximize unstrung wheel weight and retain all the strength needed for the particular vehicle application.

We also engineer our wheels to keep as much weight away from the outer edge of the wheel (close to the rim/barrel). This allows the wheel to accelerate and decelerate better. Just like a light weight tire can improve a vehicle performance.

Some companies can claim a light weight wheel, however it does not mean it is structurally designed to be a strong light weight wheel. Also, HRE does all standard powder coating and wheel assembly in-house in our 60,000 sq ft facility here in San Diego. Especially with high powered large vehicles, it's important to retain strength as well as light weight, but not compromise a wheel just to be light weight.
