squeaky brakes - has this happened to anyone?

I have a cls55 and got new front pads and rotors. I have never had any squeal and I replaced pads/rotors with genuine mbz parts. After the new brakes, I have a pretty loud squeal coming from the brakes. has this ever happened to anyone? what do you do to make the sound go away?

Were the pads bedded correctly? Also was anti-squeal used on the back of the pads?

This happen to me when I tried to address the annoying brake dust problem. I tried a ceramic set of pads. I had the rotors turned as well. The loud squeal was so bad that I went back to the original pads I had replaced. EBC said I needed to allow time for them to bed. I could not stand how loud it was, so I am back to putting up with the brake dust.

they were done the same as the dealer... just frustrating because the car doesn't feel right making all that noise.

It's Mercedes fault...switching to cheaper OEM pads to increase profit....and headaches.

As mentioned by someone before, it happens that MB forget to use anti-squeal part supposed to be part of the pads bundle.

If I were you, I would ask a check of your breaks and if anti-squeal is present, I would ask to clean up properly all the break components with break cleaner.
Of course, all must be unmounted again and break cleaner used on both rotors and pads to get rid of the pads dust.

Hope it helps

I switched to the Akebono Ceramic Euro Pads (and Zimmerman rotors). Amazing is all I can say, noise and bite. I did the whole thing myself. After turning wrenches on my 300zx, the AMG calipers are the easiest that I have ever worked on. Literally, you just need to knock the 2 bolts holding the plates in place, out, and you have access to the brake pads. Remove the pads, shoot some brake cleaner on them, reapply the anti-squeal to the back of the pads, put pads back in, and reverse process from removal. Literally should take 5 minutes on each side once the wheel is off. You should need nothing other than a hammer and punch. Otherwise take it to the dealer, I just have an aversion to my local dealership, so either I do everything or my indie does it.

I just replaced my original factory front pads with Akenobono (Euros) and no noise so far. The factory will squeal like a pig.

BTW..... Akenobono have zero dust emissions. No more pain to keep the wheels clean.
