My CLS build continues.......body kit, wheels, and more power!
Been busy with work, traveling, family, and other things and haven't had a chance to really focus on my CLS55 but now that I have time, I'm not wasting another moment to continue my build. I'll post additional details as I go along with the build. I'll update a few more pics throughout the day.
I already did the following mods a year ago: -82mm throttle body -Kleemann headers -Primary race cats -Resonator and second cat delete -Custom x-pipe -185mm ASP pulley -550cc injectors -K&N filters -ASP idler pulley kit -Colder NGK plugs -Eurocharged Heat Exchanger -Eurocharged ECU tune -Meziere water pump Now I'm getting the mod bug again and am now doing a body kit, wheels, and more motor mods! The build begins again! :) My new kit arrived a few weeks ago. It's the first Prior Design PD600 body kit in the U.S. http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...9/NG5514RE.jpg Doing test fitment of the kit http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...preview2RE.jpg http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...preview3RE.jpg http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...preview4RE.jpg New Rear Test Fit http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...preview1RE.jpg I installed my aftermarket screen and wrapped my dash in carbon fiber fabric about a year and a half ago in my garage. http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...interiorRE.jpg Fast forward a year and a half and I hate it. I decided to pull it all out and get it re-done to something else. http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...nterior2RE.jpg Now, I get the pleasure of removing all the glue LOL. http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...nterior3RE.jpg I will be posting more in just a bit as well as the progress! Woooo! . |

Alrighty, so the photos I posted in the beginning were from a little over 2 weeks ago. Here is more progress.
My CLS is now at Progressive Autosports for prep and paint. I wanted to get my headlights re-done. I'm going with a matte black finish because I'm not a fan of chrome light housings. = ) http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...tBreakdown.jpg Front Bumper sanded down and rid of ugly waves and pin holes. (I forgot to take pics of the lip that attaches to the bottom of it.) http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...updated3RE.jpg The Prior Rear Bumper started off like this: http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...preview1RE.jpg I wanted parts of it cut out = ) http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...updated2RE.jpg http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...updated1RE.jpg I opted to not go with a regular aluminum mesh grill for the cut outs. I wanted a cleaner/OEM look so I purchased some ABS plastic mesh with the wide honeycomb pattern. http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...bumperMesh.jpg . |
My long time industry friend Vincent, owner of iForged and Forgestar sent some pics of my wheels. These were taken a week and a half ago. They are being machined now.
http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...uild/photo.jpg http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...ild/photo1.jpg This is the progress 2 weeks later. I had a chance to drop by the body shop this past weekend and the front bumper is on! Still needs some final touches and cleaning/buffing but it's turning out great! Had to get ahold of some different fog light grills (Thanks Shardul!) to make everything complete. I also had my headlight housings sprayed and baked to matte black. They are dirty in these photos but looks fantastic in person! I think the headlight color change makes the whole front flow all together now. There are more tweaks being done but here is the current status. http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/...MupdatedRE.jpg . |
Coming along nicely! Look forward to the finished pics! :y
|
Nice! Love the diffuser
|
Curious where you purchased the OEM looking plastic honeycomb mesh.
|
Looks nice so far
|
Love the front lip. Doesn't look like a cow catcher from an old train.
Can you tell me where you got it please (or is it part of the new front bumper). Thanks in advance |

Here are a few shots of the rear bumper/diffuser. They are doing the finishing touches to it as we speak. = ) I had them paint the diffuser matte black. The mufflers were removed temporarily because they were touching the bumper during fitment. They'll go back on once they are done. You can also see the newly installed JB Speed rear roof spoiler too! Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics. I didn't have my DSLR with me.

Peter, I was going to do my thank you shout outs at the completion of the build but I definitely need to give you one in advance. You pulled some serious strings to get me the first Prior Design PD600 kit in the U.S. and I'm amazed with your stellar customer service. Thank you for all your help with this build. I can't wait to get that SECOND (:)) Prior Design kit here in Houston. My dad is getting excited to do his makeover to his CLS55 after seeing mine.
