Great mod!!! Noticed that some of the new models come with black headlights
I made this video 5 years ago, when I first painted my headlights.
The comments are amazing! This mod has been called ghetto, and a few other things that are racist. Strange thing is that lots of new cars on the market today come with black headlights! They look great!!

Black Light Housing " I finally Did it"
Hay , Khelawanb Thanks for compliments your car is "OUT COLD TOO", What's ghetto some idiots need to get a english dictionary out and read it. The black head light housing is a new trend in car styling , just like the daylight LED running lights . Its the same thing as all the cars copying the CLS slope styling in some fashion or form . It does look great what ever style you do. If we all remember Canada instituted daylight running lights to reduce accidents and it does it's a fact. The auto industry jumped on it as cosmetic style change that actually is useful for once . Audi the 1st to come out with the LED string running lights and their sales just sky rocketed . That set them apart from all auto companies and now their copied by their competitors. I know people who bought Audi's just for the LED running lights. Some cars don't look better with Black head lights housings some do , same with this LED running lights. Thanks Badm
Also its just totally changes the LOOK of a CLS or any other BENZ and the compliments you get from people are "UNREAL"

Is there a DIY? I cant imagine there's anything difficult about the job. Seems like a precision prep job but after that it's a spray correct?
Link to a DIY? Does anyone know what kind of paint is used? Has anyone seen it done? For $700 I hope it's not paint out of a rattler.

Not everyone is doing it the way you have it set up, I guess? I'm thinking of a DIY for a huge fraction of the cost. Really you just need some good tape, some really good paint, and lots of patience. The painted portion is under glass and I dont think anyone will inspect it with a microscope. I'm not saying butcher the job but if you are skilled with paint why not DIY..?
I think a satin finish would look insane. The glass portion of the headlight would give it enough "gloss" to make it look just shiny enough but still a hint of matte underneath..
Plus, with the money you save you can get a pulley and tune.

I like very much the LED surround thing
but would like to see more close. As far as I understand it is an add-on ring, right ? please take a pic from the side.

I wish someone just sold these aftermarket to avoid all this headache. I think I'm going to have lightwerkz.net do mine since I can't seem to find anyone willing to do it in South Florida.
