07 CLS63: Parktronic acting weird
I've searched but couldn't find solutions to my problem. During daytime, parktronic works perfectly but during night time, the sensor randomly goes off even though there are nothing nearby the car (F and R)...
Anyone know the solutions to this issue? |
Have your bumpers ever been repainted?
I had an issue with one parktronic sensor that would randomly go off in the rear when there's nothing near it. It turns out there was a little too much paint on that sensor that was occasionally picking up false positives. So I had the sensor replaced and now everything is fine. BTW the dealer did scan for codes and it showed that that one particular sensor was acting up. |

I had same thing where I had my car waxed and wax was stuck inside. I just took a sharp knife and took it out.

Yep the bumper has to be removed in order to replace it.
Also the sensors come unpainted, so you need a body shop to do that. Luckily my extended warranty covered it for me (minus paint). |
same issue on my cls550. They replaced all 3 on one side under warranty. I'm guessing they just couldn't narrow it down. I know you can talk to the parktronic system itself if you can get a hold of a descent scan tool.
