2007 CLS 63 vs 2007 S600 vs 2007 M6 vs 2007 Maserati Quattroporte

Hello,

I'm looking to buy a new car and i have narrowed it down to:
2007 CLS 63
2007 S600
2007 M6
2007 Maserati Quattroporte (with ZF shift not the F-1 paddle shifts)

Inputs please, I really dont know which one to get.

Andrew, I just went through this
First off: STAY AWAY from the Maserati before 2008. after alot of research the clutch and trans were not upgraded until the mid 2008 model. (youll go through a new clutch every 10-15k miles or less) . The M6 and CLS63 will come down to weight and do you NEED a sedan or coupe...?? Cant speak on the S600 sorry. None the less good luck in your searching. !

I thought the clutch was upgraded in the 2007 so we can choose from the ZF and the F-1 and the F1 was the one you had to switch and the ZF lasts "forever".
hmmm, i guess sedan or coupe doesn't really matter because im more focused on the interior and exterior instead of body style.
Thanks for the response!

I went through this same thing back in 2009 and ended up buying a CLS55amg
which I still have.
Never got the Quattroporte out of my head though. So I bought one last year.
I bought an 07' automatica. The early 07 had the duo-select trans. The later
07s had the ZF automatic. Love both cars. I do have more confidence in the
reliability of the cls.

To be honest the Maserati technology is way behind anything out there.
The GPS is a joke (looks like a cartoon on the screen.) I have to say the
Bose system is the best Bose I've come across. The leather looks and still smells great.
It's a sport gt which I like because of the better wheels and non wood steering
wheel. I should have found a more conservative color. This thing draws too much attention. Young and old just do double takes in my small town.

M6 is a tank
Maser is like a temperamental, demanding, yet stunningly sexy girlfriend. Not worth the trouble for more than a quick trip
The S is more reliable, but the v12 cars ARE a strong financial commitment to maintain.

That leaves the CLS.....but if you should get the 55. Same everything with a much more go fast friendly engine. Mod it even lightly and you can crush nearly all that date try!

Good luck!

I agree. I think the CLS is the most sensible choice. Either 55 or 63.
BTW, I think the 6spd ZF in the early cls63 is the same one that's in the 07'
and later Quattroporte
Also, I have the very hard to keep clean color leather in the Mas.

i see thanks!
BTW, just another question, would you guys get the 2011 E350 or the 2007 s600? Because the 2011 version of the E350 looks really sleek as well!

Do not take the Quattroporte!
The F1 gear box is crispy and just cost you some bucks every 20000miles but yes for such a car a automatic would be the better choice.
I sold mine because:
- Water in the trunk common issue
- Low quality interior/ buttons what get sticky and need replacement
- Lether is nice but very sensitive...you get horrible scratches only with your fingernails
- If you pull too hard at the door opener (inside) it will ****** and the next $$$ gone
- Cooler fan issue (noise)
- Torque shaft issue (not possible to overhaul and new one cost a bit in addition to the clutch)
- Cylinderhead issue (noise)
- Electronic issues...display flashing crazy...no cure!
"Check out the Maserati forums before you buy!"

The car looks sexy and has a nice sound...but that is all!
I'm much more happy with my CLS63AMG now ...no way the Maserati can compare to that!

Do yourself a favor and read in the Maserati life forum.
Most of the issues are not related to what gear box you are running.
The overall quality did not change!
Actually the F1 gear box was ok...but is high on maintenance and does more fit to a pure sportscar...not a 2t flagship!
There is a reason why they are so cheap after the warranty is over....

Thumbs down

Consider the QP ONLY if you don't care about the performance.
ALL Maseratis, including the new MC and even the all new QP with V8TT,are hopelessly underpowered vs the competition.
All sound and no go......
