Used my rotary polisher and masked a lot It is hard to get a nice result if you just use your hands. But if you decide to do it by hand. You should use a prewax oil and then a wood wax.

don't know what you mean with replica (as far as I know replica means fake)
in any case they are nice
I 've seen those wheel style in different models
but SLS BS is this:
.. I know standard oem caps have a star or the mercedes writing with laurel and are 72mm diameter
I was misled by the rounded (domed ) appearance of that cap
and thought it was something along these lines (from SLR)
fact is that my "summer" wheels have a smaller hole of 62mm
therefore, first thing I had to CNC-make a custom bung for the hub
this:
then, I need also a "cap" ..
and, to date, I had designed a few versions along this style (GLA-45)
but, indeed, the "tromp-l'oeil" of your pic gave me a new idea of something large and "domed" like SLR .
hope my man hasn't already done one of these that we designed..
again, compliments for your hard and nice work (and still didn't see the detailing hob on your Z4..)
.. pity that you've put so much work at finishing a diffuser which, one day, you could discover having a hidden mistake
.

When I wrote SLS wheels/ Black series wheels I was thinking of the C63 AMG BS:
-That`s a big center cap project, that I think will turn out great

Then I have started on a new mod. Painting the Callipers
After searching for months after a nice colour, I finally dicided. Wanted the OEM Ceramic brakes colour.
I ordered the VHT Burnt Copper spray can, but wasn`t too convinced of that colour.
So next the paintshop blended me the colour "Orange flame" from Bentley Contenental GT. Was nice, but a little dark.
After that one the paintshop mixed the GM colour "Atomic Orange" from 07 Corvette C6. And this one have been my choice
Then my CLS stands without brakes for some days, new rotors will also be mounted with the newly painted callipers:
Had to give my callipers a good clean:
Clean callipers on the way to the paintshop for some Atomic orange paint:

you got a really good paint job.
I didn't know that colour is named "Atomic orange". a nice name !
about the amg decal, the curved design is maybe better looking in the 8-pistons caliper ...
mines are not performance.
as written in my sig, they are SLR 722's, which is my polar Star
At first I had only the front SLR set. Indeed I had (and still have) 2 : one new from SLR 722 which is 390mm and another from SLR first version, in 370mm diameter. As I could not find a Rear SLR set at a human price I studied for long the option of fitting the 370mm together with the 8-pots caliper on my rear axle... brake force bias would have been just about 55-58% on front (against about 65-70% stock bias). Therefore, a bit too much biased toward the rear; something that I would have to compensate by choosing different pad compounds ..
as I 'd have had the mercedes logo on fronts and the amg at rears, me too I was tempted to replace the logo decal and did a lot of search and trials but, if you want to know the truth, what I did not like mostly was the engraved effect of sticked-on decals .. so I contacted a typography for making an oem-like "silkscreen" job .
Expensive .. but I had quite agreed everything .. while during those days I was finally able to source an SLR Rear set. so gave up to all that and focused at all the necessary work for having them properly fitted.
Had plan to make a thread about that install but I'm too lazy sometimes
btw, even if I'm not in US but in Italy, Norway is really very far away ..

Especially since I work with Ferrari and Maserati. Have been in Italy twice also
Wow, so they are SLR 722s. That`s impressive. They are Carbon Ceramic brakes then?
The paintshop applied my AMG stickers behind the clear coat, looks good.

... sorry, didn't see that you had posted a lot of pics of your car in between, so edited my post for not hijacking yours.
- Decal: I see it's coated on top. .. but would 've expected some more from you, for example the use of a silkscreen technique...
- what are you using for curing the leather of your seats .. it seems in great condition ! I bought some time ago an english product called "gliptone" (used by Jag's and Rolls' clubs) and I was happy with it. Unfortunately I didn't find the time to apply it for one year ..
Do you know it ?
working with Ferrari&Mase you mean you are usual detailing those cars ?

VERY NICE PICS .. your car is SUPER CLEAN !
It appears lowered. do you use an ELM ?
and, yes, now I see that Atomic has a more orange tone.
Did you make yourself the brake fluid draining when re-installing your calipers ?

Haven`t heard of the silkscreen technic before? Is it some kind of watermarks?
No, never heard of that product. But I`m sure it gives your leather some nice oils.
To give your leather a fresher look, it is imortant to clean it well first. Then use a selant that are as matt as possible. Shiny seats will allways look well used. I use different products to different leather and cars. But on the CLS I used a product that I can`t remember the name of But it is German, really nice stuff
Yes, I`m the manager of the finishing department. So I do some detailing work on Ferraris and Maseratis. And some other nice cars. Have also detailed exotics as: Koeningseggs, Paganis, Lambos etc...

Yes it is lowered. I just use links...
I did make myself some brake fluid draning pieces for the installation.
So, do you have an thread about your CLS, like to see that one?

That`s really cool with the Ceramic brakes and have to cost some $$$$$$...

Silkscreen is just the traditional technique used by OEM. Don't know if translation is correct but the originary name from italian could be "serigraphy".
for Leather care me, after a bad experience with another common german commercial product, I can say I am very happy with this
Btw, NO OIL effect, and there's a cleaner to be used first and a conditioner after it.
I know there are Zymol, Zaino .. but I do not have direct experience with them.
If you have detailed Koenigssegg, then maybe you have seen my "summer" wheels ..
About Brake fluid draining, I understand that you didn't have to go through the pain of doing it ..
Unfortunately I didn't manage to make a complete thread about my car, yet.
you can find pics only through my posts
but, for example, if you click on the picture of my wheel cap, you can see various pics in my imageshack;
then you can find some more by clicking on the photo of my caliper ...

Hey, greetings from Czech Republic, going to get myself CLS 55 soon, think in 2 weeks latest, so was lurking around the net, reading other owners threads and posts. Have to say - your thread I liked the most - first of all we have similar taste in "tuning" and detailing. Want to do same upgrades as you, mostly. X-Pipe, lights, grille and glossy carbon parts. I think I ll have golden CLS with beige interior and that "red" matte wood, which I dont like. Black piano is perfect, but I want to make fully carbonised interior as on 63 AMG.
Love it. So, what I want to say, keep this thread alive, I will use it as an instruction X-PIPE is must have. What do you think about ECU upgrade?

Did not see photos of your wheels, but it`s many styles of Koenigsegg wheels. We have a set of 3 wheels in carbon fibre for CCXR at the workshop.
You have to do a thread about yours, it have a lot of unique pieces
