sorry for the (i'm sure much repeated) ubiquitous question, but there is no real positive answer found anywhere.

Why does an AMG version of a non-AMG car sound so much better?
It is not only the exhaust, that I am sure of.

I put the entire system from the headers down, of a friend's CLS55 on my CLS500 and it sounds...well..almost exactly like my stock car did, maybe a slightly bit louder, but none of the gnarliness of the AMG...why?

I have more compression, almost the same displacement (ok, i'm sure 400cc won't make THAT much of a difference), Eurocharged map, no cats.

My advice! Dont fake it! Someone might take a picture of your car and post it on facebook or somewhere displaying fake amg! Just sell your car and get a real cls55 amg! They dont cost that much now! price has dropped on them!
