CLS55 AMG Leaking Steering Rack (gear)
Hi,
My 2005 CLS55 AMG was in for its MOT this morning, they have advised me that the power steering rack is leaking through failed seals and filling the gators with fluid.
Has anyone successfully replaced these seals? or am I best biting the bullet and replacing the complete rack.
Frustratingly the car had a new rack fitted in 2013 under the previous owner, I wouldn't expect it to fail so soon.

I wouldn't buy a new rack over a couple of o-rings. Buy a kit with every possible size (green ones) before you take it apart. Or you could try the dealer for the right ones.
