Cls55 power steering stiff heavy
Got a 2006 cls55 with 113,000 and started having some power steering issues which have disabled the car. The car started to be hard to steer at slower speeds, and I thought it may be the active steering solenoid. Today the car has gotten intermittently hard to steer , and makes a hissing sound when turning left or right( like the pressure relief). When turning it pulls the engine rpm down and the pump is quiet. It should be said that the fluid is full.
Today I put it on the lift and pulled them hard lines that run to the left or right of the rack off (not the ones from the pump, , but the hard lines that run along the rack) and pulled what looks like a greenish blue chunk of oring out of the line.
I believe this is a rack issue, not a pump issue, as it seems the rack is equalizing pressure from low to high side and fighting itself. Anyone have any insight, and part number for reseal kit for the rack if this is the problem. Thanks
