Help finding 17 or 18" drag wheels

(Note the wheel spin blur of the rear tires on the launch.)

So I've been doing a lot of work on my CLS63, and just got a Wavetrack LSD installed (which is awesome). So I took it to the track today and did 8 passes. My mechanics did an additional 3.

With the obviously wrong size wheels (20"), I can't manage better than a 13.1 ET. Wheel spin out of first is pretty bad. To keep it from shutting power down due to excessive wheel spin off the launch, we finally just started running it in dyno mode.

I am looking to get a setup with 17's (if they fit) or nice wide18's and need some help finding a good set.

I have the the most beautiful, and borderline useless wheels on it now. They are 20" Concavo CW-12's

Front:
Wheels: 20x9 // ET 24 // 5x112 // Hub 66.6
Tires: 255/30/20
Rear:
Wheels: 20x10.5 // ET 25 // 5x112 // Hub 66.6
Tires: 305/25/20

My stock 19's are Front:
Wheels: 19x8.5 // ET 25 // 5x112
Tires: 255/35/19
Rear: 19x9.5 // ET 28 // 5x112
Tires: 285/30/19

Has anyone found any 18's that are 9.5 & 10.5" wide that fit?

I like how the 20's fit, so would like to get a full setup on 18's that I can still run the same widths of 255 on the fronts and 305's on the rear with close offsets to my 20's.

Any thoughts on this?

This first video was with Dyno mode on, ESP off, driven by experienced racer. (My mechanics friend)

Based on his burnout, he thought it would hook off the line all-in. He spent around 1.5 - 2 seconds just spinning and had to back off.

This pass was my mechanic. His second run, just ESP off. You can hear it lurch several times as the throttle is being cut by the computer. He said he was at about 35-40% throttle.

It was after this run that that we went into Dyno mode for the last few passes.

It was finally on my last run that I launched without spin. Was around 30-50% throttle thru first gear, rolled all in once I was stable in second. Felt like I waited Waaaaay too long before I got on it. No vid, but was in Dyno mode, ESP off.

So yea, need more meat on my tires!

(on Proxes TR1's now)

Ooh. And my car is making 600WHP, and 525 WTQ

what mods?

As for wheel size, I'm seeing a common one is the 16" x 7 rear wheels. There were a few light weight contenders from the 1999-2001 range mercedes and people are throwing some meaty mickey thompsons at them.

Dang, I have a super light, forged set of HRE's that are 18, but only 8.5 wide I'm pretty sure......they're black with deep lug centers.
The picture of your CLS is na-nice!

here is a pic of the R43's

Simply put you need a custom forged wheel to be built for you from scratch.

You need both a durable wheel that can withstand that power and you need a lightweight wheel - HRE is the best at creating both.

Feel free to PM me, I can provide you with more info and get you what you need.
