Hello All - researched *many* posts yet I'm still confused: how can I determine which COMAND version is installed in my car? I'd like to install a backup camera and I understand there are differences that must be considered. confident it's either an NTG1 (best guess) or maybe NTG2. also, if anyone has successfully done this recently, what components would you recommend, and what advice might you offer for installation?

here are some details (from a VIN parameter report):
Sales name CLS 63 AMG
Order number 0 8 714 25279
Delivery date 02 11 2007
also, SA codes:
- 530 COMAND DVD APS USA WITH NAVIGATION
- 536 SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO COMPLETE SYSTEM

I've had this car for ~7 years and it's simply superb, with very few problems easily resolved based on information on this Forum

unfortunately it's NTG1. You can add a backup camera, but it's no easy feat if you want to keep your factory NTG1.

@OCKlasse - thanks for the feedback. OUCH. given that, If I do anything it's likely an aftermarket h/u replacement using the MOST-HUR as the COMAND interface
