2005 CLS 55 AMG ROTORS FRONT QUESTION

Hi.. I found a huge confusion information about rotors for 2005 CLS55 AMG in the front...

I bought recently a CLS 55 from 2005.

I had in the past a 2005 clk 55 amg with 2 pieces rotors in the front.
A bad thing when comes to change in Mercedes repair shop.

My surprise, when i checked my rotors after buy the CLS i found the calipers look the same as CLK, but the rotors are only ONE PIECE...

CLS 55 amg come with only one piece rotors?

I searched online and found some information about C63 amg 2008 has the same rotors as CLS55 amg.

There are possibility of buy 2 piece rotors of OEM C63 amg and install in CLS 55 2005?
Brembo has half price 2 piece rotors for C63 2008...

Thanks for the help on this. Any information you can share would be a great help...

Thanks

Cheers

As i know; "05 Cls55" has an 8-pot front caliper, with 1-piece (360x36) Rotor,

while "05 Clk55" got 6-pot caliper, with 2-piece (360x32) Rotor,,

you can use 2-piece Rotor from "Cls63/E63/Sl63", it will be fit perfectly with your exist Cls55 caliper..

06 CLS55 w/ P030, 05 Jag S Type R, 05 TBird-68 Dodge Charger R/T-440 w/4speed I'm original owner
The info posted in not consistent with US models, which is 2006 CLS not 2005.
in addition, there are 2 rotor sizes. One with and another without the P030 performance option. Which one is yours?
One can always install a 1 piece rotor. It's really not a high performance heat dissipating rotor.

Hi

my don't have p030 performance package!

actually it has only 1 piece rotors...

If I understood correctly:

NOt p30 - 360x36
and I can install without any problems 1 piece rotors or 2 pcs rotors with exactly same size.
i found brembo has for half price as OEM 2 piece rotors in 360x36
any feedback on this brembo?

Yes sure, you can use C63 (360x36) 2-piece Rotor with your Exist 8-pot caliper..

A) 1-piece Rotor = (360x36), code: "-030"

*MB # "230 421 07 12"

*Brembo # "09.A819.11"

B) 2-piece Rotor = (360x36), code: "+P30/808/809",

*MB # "219 421 02 12"

*Brembo # "09.9764.23"

C) 2-piece Rotor = (380x36), code: "+030/8F"

*MB # "230 421 09 12"

*Brembo # "09.8878.23"

D) 2-piece Rotor = (390x36), code: "P30/P98"

*MB # "230 421 12 12"

*Brembo # "09.9313.33"

(Brembo = OEM) & (OEM = Brembo)

Brembo is a leader of brake components worldwide, and it has almost life time contract with MB since (6/1981),,

you can go with "OEM/Jorid/TRW", but if you want OEM spec. pads with less dust, you can get "Akebono" pads,,

also; there's a performance pads, like "Racing brakes" or "EBC" pads,,

all these are good to go..
