Battery replacement?

I was planning to change my w219 cls 350 cgi battery, but was told that it is not a straightforward procedure.

Parts dealer told me that I would have to do some configuration of replacement battery and reset of a some sort of energy system.

Is it possible to for a DIYer to change the main battery?

Please post battery replacement instructions if replacement is possible

Hello, I just replaced the main starter battery (OE from Mercedes-Benz dealer) along with the auxiliary battery on my CLS 55 and it was just remove and replace. I did keep my battery tender hooked up to the battery cables to keep 12+ Volts to the cars electrical system. No need to reset anything other than the clock if you do not have any power while the batteries are out. I still had the original batteries that were from 2006

The Mercedes Benz branded battery is an AGM style rated at 95 Amp hours.

I was reluctant to get an battery from the dealer but not many aftermarket batteries had the 95 Amp hour rating or better. Braille batteries had over 100 Amp hour rating but were also more expensive than the dealer. In the USA the Mercedes-Benz main battery group 94 is made by Interstate battery (Johnson controls). I have heard good things about exide too.

Thank you for your advice

I visited a shop specialized in car battery and battery installation and they told me I should just replace an AMG battery for my car the old fassion way. No tricks.

They told me that people make so much mistakes using battery tender or something other and in cgi 2007 only possibly windows etc would need relearning. If I remember right they said that using battery tender or something similar would be needed only if I would change auxiliary battery at the same time.

I just replaced the battery and the car seems to be working (no esp lights or anything flashing).

Great to hear, I used a battery tender only because I replaced both the main and aux battery at the same time. Cheers!
