Brake calipers

Hello. New to this so forgive me now. Looking to remove my front calipers on 06 CLS55 AMG for rebuild. Wondering how to cap off fluid line or what’s the best way for caliper removal?

Thanks

Try to buy a cap of some sort. Those bolts are really tight, be prepared. It's difficult to bleed the brakes without star and a pressure bleeder. Also, be aware the brakes can activate and smoosh your fingers if you wake up the car.

If you are going to be doing ANY brake work, I highly suggest you unplug the SBC unit in the engine compartment.
That being said, if you are removing the calipers all the way, this is a great time to drain all brake fluids and flush with STAR system.

Reinstalling the caliber bolts requires new ones since they are single use. Retorquing them on jack stands are nearly impossible due to their 200 ft lbs. Only get the leverage off a lift.
