Supercharger clutch gone bad????

So I noticed a loss in power in my W219 and took it to a shop and they came back and said that the super charger clutch/bearing has gone bad. Then they quoted me 2k to fix it and I said naw. So, after doing some research I have seen many people just saying replace the bearing. Is this true for loss of power or do I need to replace the actual clutch part as well as the bearing?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Can you take iff the belt and spin the pulley by hand? Record this on video and post it up. Do you have an iphone or android device? You want to get some badic datalogging with the likes of the torque app and an elm327 wireless device off ebay. You want to see what your boost is doing.

You can replace the bearing, the pulley & bearing with a smaller one for more boost snd power and you can delete the clutch with a smller pulley and go fixed pulley are all options available. 2k is a lot dont pay that!!

So you just put in a new bearing and it stopped clutch from slipping? The process to replace doesn't look bad at all.

Okay I looked up the elm327 and have never used one but sounds cool! So you download an app on your phone and you are able to see specs and faults when you plug the device into your car? Thank you for suggesting a good work around can you explain how to delete the clutch on SC and going the fixed pulley route?

I'm honestly thinking about doing this route! I think its like an extra 40hp right? I will have to get it re tuned after installing correct?

Might want to take a closer look at things.I replaced the bearing when it got noisy. There was never any slipping. There is also the condition of the belt and tensioner to consider.
