Long tube headers CLS 55 AMG

Hello everyone. I didn't see much out there, so I decided to share my experience of installing my long tube American Racing Headers on my CLS 55 AMG. The following link is my YouTube experience I recently posted. Enjoy!

Nice, sweet, I did the short ones and I'm waiting for my mechanic to finish repair to test it.
Thanks for sharing!

Hi Ruben that sounds phenomenal! I have been doing some research on some long tube headers for my 06' CLS 55 AMG. I am with you the car just needs more attitude and should have been that way from AMG. Thank you for sharing as there is not much out there for our cars. Enjoy!!

Ruben,

Great video and one of the reasons I chose to go with the ARH headers myself for my CLS. Do you happen to have any long term feedback now that it has been a few months on how it sounds during normal driving? Any rattles that have popped up? Did you ever dyno the car post install and if so, what kind of numbers did you end up seeing? Thanks again for the video.

Hello Lost27,
I love, love, love, my CLS55 since adding my ARHs. I can't say enough about the long term effects. No rattles. No Issues at all. I kept the rest of the exhaust completely factory. It now has an exotic sound to it. It's quite when normal driving and bad *** when I get on it. One word of advice, save yourself some frustration and buy these exhaust components from FCP Euro. Use the factory replacement gaskets. You will need the exhaust donut too. Here is the link and my dyno chart. Have fun and post your results. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mer...upplier-517651

Nice! It looks like you gained between 15-20 rwtq from about 3000 to 6500 and about 30 rwhp peak. Re-watching your youtube video, it sounds like you don't have any other mods besides the headers and the tune. Was that correct? If so it looks like you have a VERY strong engine in there with what looks like 500 rwhp and 535 rwtq . For comparison, I made 453 rwhp and 521 rwtq with an 83mm pulley, tune, and larger heat exchanger: https://mbworld.org/forums/w219/7351...ml#post7760964

Hopefully I'll have some before and after dynos by the end of the week. I don't think I'll get close to your numbers as I went with the high flow cats on my headers.
