2006 CLS55 AMG - start / stop button illuminate?

Hey all..........just grabbed a 2006 CLS55 AMG......what a machine! Was between this and a M5 - I made the right choice for many reasons.
In any event - has a couple little things I need to resolve (drivers door handle electronics for one).

First question - is the start/stop button on top of the shifter knob supposed to illuminate? sure seems like it should.
Thanks a ton for any input.

Hey there, I believe not. If so then mine has been out since I bought it LOL. But don’t think so. Here’s a pic of mine.

Yup it definitely does not illuminate. Congrats on a beautiful choice. When I got mine I was also looking at the M5 at the time... Needless to say the salesman put me off that one super fast. The gearbox is a major costly thing !!! Super stoked with my choice in the end.. happy noise making brother man

Thanks guys!
sold my M3 and picked up the CLS55 AMG.
Was.really close to pulling the trigger on a M5......but so happy I didn't.
Fixing some odds and.ends.and.doing some minor mods. Popped new wheels on her and new rear tires.
The torque is freaking awesome!!!
Will post some.pics when it stops raining here in middle Tennessee

You need to install the keyless go system. Not an easy job and not for someone not well versed in electronics. This vehicle is as mich a complicated computer as it is a mechanical marvel
