Hey guys, im thinking about getting some new wheels in a couple of months, and thought i'd start narrowing my options down in advance. I want 18s because i hear 19s slow your car down, and i also want a little bit more rubber in the back with a medium sized lip. Im looking to spend between $500-800 for the set of rims (4 wheels, not including tires). Here's what i've found so far, feel free to make recommendations...

Feel free to suggest other options. This selection gives a pretty good idea of the look im going for so feel free to post more options! Also, does anyone know about the quality of these wheels and their durability record? I dont want anything thats going to bend on me. Thanks.

I like the deep lip look. I voted for number Ruff Racing #2. That is Ruff Racing 278. Also check out Ruff Racing 236.

I'm thinking about putting HP Racing New Lighting's on my SLK 55 AMG. I have the same wheel on my TA.

looks NICE! have you had any problems with the quality of the wheels? Bending, etc? Do you have a lot of potholes where you live?

Thanks. I get a lot of positive comments on the wheels. No problems with quality. They have been on the car for just over a year and about 14K miles. I live in the greater Philadelphia area. We have a lot of potholes but I manage to be careful. So far no bends.

I'm partial to the ASA ST4 since I have those and seemed to fit the budget. I had for six months and I've been happy with them. If anything, I'd want a fatter lip. The TSW's I've seen at discount tire (aka american tire) for a fair price, but I eventually got the ST4's from tirerack. Weird thing is that tirerack doesn't offer the ST4's for our w208 body anymore. Talking with the tirerack people soon after my purchase I asked them about that, they said that later model year clk's may have some interference with the ST4's and the center cap, some not all, not sure if he meant w209 or later w208s. I didn't have a problem. On another MB forum they the ASA ST4 on a black clk430 (see link below)

The moven CL2 looks similar to the bremmas and the ST4 but with a fatter lip. I know there's a pic somewhere, but I couldn't find it on a black w208.

I also like the Moven LR9, just not sure on the style with our MY.

and the Lorinser LM5 & LM6, and the Carlsson 2/5 Wheels Evolution Brilliants but were definitely out of my price range.
