Checking for original factory MB wheels

hey guys, i've been told to ask here since this is a very active forum and would probably get knowledgable answers quickly

i am waiting on conversion bolts to fit R230 wheels on my R129, and in the meantime have found two sets of wheels (one from dealer, one already installed on an R129 but not sure what bolts are used), and will probably find some more sets when i make the time to go and see a few shops

these are the wheels i am interested in and already installed on an R129

question is, how do i check on those wheels if they are factory originals, or replicas/knock-offs?

your input will be highly appreciated, TIA

Look for the part number, etc. on the INSIDE of the wheel.

yeah i guessed that was the way to do it, i didn't think replicas would go to replicate the insides as well

from a search on ebay, this is what i thought i should look for (one on each spoke from the inside of the wheel)

can anyone confirm that these NEVER appear on replicas?

Thanks, vraa.

I was thinking I would call the guy with the set on the R129 already tomorrow (weekend here), so any replies would be VERY helpful and highly appreciated.

On the inside of the wheel, usually there is a paper sticker with the mb logo and most important, the mb logo is forged in the wheel body.

Sometimes, I have seen the mb part no on OEM stuff. But it is copyright infrigment if the mb logo is on non-mb parts.

Always taking a chance if you do not know the history of the wheel-Buyer Beware.
