Just the winter tires for the stock 18" wheels may be costlier than going with a 17 " or 16 " winter tire/wheel package.

The stock all seasons on the sport are 245/40R-18 front, 265/35R-18 rear.
What 17" or 16 " tire/wheel options can I go with that would fit the Sport chassis and brakes?

Certainly places such as Tirerack, et al, can give you possible wheel/tire combinations. You'd want 17" or even 16" wheels (if the 16s can fit) as more narrow tires can traverse the snow easier. Also, over the years, you won't be paying for constant re-balancing or put additional wear & tear on your sidewall rubber.

Having seperate summer and winter wheels&tires is by far a better option, summer tires are much better in summer, and winter much better in winter. There are a number of members here who are selling OEM e-class wheels, and any of the OEM 16 or 17" sets will work on your car.
