2000 E430 - Options for tires

Hi, I have a 2000 E430 4Matic Sports that came with 235/45/R17 tires. Now I want to replace the tires with higher sidewall (something like 235/55/R17) to make ride more comfortable. Most of my driving is on freeways in nights when there is no/little traffic and about 15% (about 1000 miles/year) city driving. I don't care if speedometer will not show correct speed/mileage. I want to know, if there are any technical issues with this .... I mean, will the over-sized tires rub with something. What are my options to make the ride more comfortable without changing the wheels. Since most of my driving is in night and sometime I get icy roads so looking for something all weather tires.
Thanks
Anil

depends on the weather
235/55-17 would rub on the suspension bits in the front

Luke, I remember long time back, somebody put different size tires on my other car. He suggested going with higher sidewall and narrower tire width. Do I have some similar option for my car ... something like 225/55/R17 or I have to go with 235/45/R17. Also I have seen 245/45/R17 on similar cars so I thought 235/55/R17 should be ok for it but still I wanted to confirm with a professional. Thank you for information.

Hi, would the 225-55-17 work on my 2000 MB 430 E?

Thanks.
