I was wondering if anyone here has tried a 265/40zR17 or 255/40z/R17 tire size instead of the standard 225/40zR17 that comes with the C7/evolution package(I currently have the stock 17rims with Continentals Sport Contact 2s). I was thinking of putting a wider tire size on the back of my C320 sport coupe or possibly just going with 265/40zR17s all around. This would mainly be for looks/aesthetics. Opinions?

You will not be able to fit a 255 or 265 up front. I doubt if you can get a 235 up front without modifying the wheel wells or rolling the fenders. If your rear wheel is 17X8.5 you can go with the 255/40/17. The 265 may be wide for the rear wheel.

to run the wider rear tires ... you need the wider rear wheels

Its impossible to fit a 265 tire on a front of the C-coupe. And why do you want to do that??? I think it will look pretty ugly.
