"TPMS Inoperable" message

Today, I traded my 2011 E350 for a 2012 E350.

Took the wheels off the '11, and put them on the '12.

Keep getting TPMS Inoperable message.

For reference, the TPMS sensors are THE SAME from 2011 and 2012 model years. Sensors were new in April 2014, and just stopped when put on the 2012 vehicle today.

Anybody have a solution? There are many posts on MB World about this, but the solution seems not to be documented.

Thanks!

SOLUTION: Got it fixed at an independent shop.

Hooked up a computer thru the OBD port.

- deflated each tire & recorded each TPMS electronic ID #
- inflated the tires, and downloaded their ID # to the vehicle computer
- reset the TPMS - relearn function.
- drove for 10 miles and the TPMS reset.

Took about 25 minutes, and the indy was kind enough to do it for no charge.

I recently installed new tires (from Tire Rack) Wheels and TPMS sensors on my 2013 E350 Coupe. The local installer used their standard way to program the new TPMS sensors for my car and it appeared to work but I received the "TPMS Inoperative" message after driving the car for 10 miles and resetting the TPMS from the dash.

The above solution resolved the problem.

Thanks for the tip!
