Camber kit and rim size reduction to prevent cracked rims?

Hi All,

I have a lowered W211 E350 with 19" AMG replica wheels. The rear wheels have an ongoing issue with cracking, having been repaired twice already and one of the rims has just cracked again. The front rims have given no trouble, all of the issues are with the rear rims and always on the inboard bead due to the camber caused by the ride height.

To try and prevent this from occurring again I have given some thought to installing a camber kit in the rear end to spread the load over the inboard and outboard beads rather than just the inboard, and to go back to an 18" rim which will have more sidewall in the tire to help smooth out the bumps a little.

Anyone had any experience with this sort of thing? Am I headed in the right direction with this?

Thanks
Splint
