Advice on fixing rub

Hi all, I have some Vossen VFS-1 20" on my C63 AMG. They are beautiful, amazing...all that jazz. But here is my problem...

They came with 235/30/20 on the front and there was no rub. I went to Discount Tire to get some MPSS put on the front and they said, based on the weight of my car, they could only put certain tires on that support the weight. So we put some 245/35/20 MPSS's on and of course, they rub against the bottom plate of the shock tower. Not much, but they do.

F$#k.

So...any advice on rubbing? Do I run tires that don't actually support the weight of my car? Can I try to file down the metal a bit on the bottom of the strut tower? Can I somehow move that up a little?

Thanks in advance...I tried searching a bit but didn't find anything quite relevant.

PS, rubbing the strut perch...not the strut tower itself
