2016 E250 Bluetec 4matic Avantgarde Edition W212
Wheel fitment - 2016 e250 W212 with AMG wheels and 245/40R18 tires
Hi All,
I have a 2016 e250 Bluetec Avantgarde edition / sport package which includes 18" wheels with 245/40R18 tires on all 4 corners, and the heavier duty brakes... improved calipers and vented/cross drilled rotors. I am struggling to get confirmation on whether a 17" wheel for winter setup will work, or even a 16" option for the higher sidewall. Most of the online sites including tirerack do offer a "minus one" 17" sizing option which would be the 245/45R17, but my dealer is telling me that based on the VIN, I need to stick to an 18" wheel. Can anyone confirm whether the rotor diameter or the caliper is the bigger issue here in terms of clearance? The offset on the factory OEM wheels I have is ET48, so by going to a smaller offset, say ET35 or 37, does this solve the issue?
Any clarification and guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!
