W203 shocks

We have two 2003 C coupes. They both have the same factory setups which includes the Evolution package with 17" wheels. One was purchased new and has 67,000kms and the second was purchased used and has 77,000kms. The one purchased used has a noticably softer suspension, particularly on dips than the one purchased new. We prefer the firmer and sportier suspension. Will replacing the shocks improve the ride and handling of the second vehicle and if so what shocks would you recommend. I have checked for leaking shocks and they appear fine so I'm suspecting that the second coupe came from the factory with softer shocks. Thanks for your advice.

I've got Koni adjustables as well as H&R springs. I don't know which made the most improvement since I did it at the same time- but I love my setup. I set the shocks at their middle setting just to have something to work from. So far- I have left it. It handles great and the ride is only slightly more firm than stock. Some people confuse firm with harsh. It rides like a sportscar- not a log wagon. I love it.

Thanks for your thoughts. I would like it to ride more like a sports coupe which the other one does, not harsh but sporty. I think I'll try the Konis first. The diference between the two cars is amazing. Thanks again.

no problem. it was money well spent to me. i wanted it to sit a little lower- but no one in their right mind lowers something w/o chaning shocks. i went with these over the other brands simply because i have used them in the past on other cars and have been happy with the results. the adjustability was just an added bonus.

Look into the Vogland springs. There is not too much of a drop, and it stiffens it up nicely, but does not make the ride too harsh. I have the Audio springs, since I have a sub, and a tool kit in the back. The drop is small enough that you don't need a camber kit or anything. I am verry happy with my springs.
