tire recommendations

tire recommendations
Front tires last about 15000 miles then you get a hop in the front end. We have used high end soft tires and I am thinking a harder compound may be the answer. Car is driven 20-25000 miles a year 50-70mph highway use. Any recommendations?

None of the low profile tires will give you high mileage, you'll need to go with probably HR's with a higher profile to get longer mileage, but your car will sure look funny. Start with Sears, they have Michelin's with 50,000 mile warranty tires (which I have on my Jeep) and see what they can offer you.

Tire recommendations
I have been very pleased with the Michelin Sport AS tires on my 2001 CLK 430. Especially good in the wet, last about 22,000 miles under normal driving. I keep pressures at 33 F, 37 R. Quiet, good handling. Bought them from Tire Rack.

This CLK seems a little strange. Drive 10-12,000 on fresh tires and the front wheels will start to get a little hop in them. Hops at all speeds, cold or hot. Then as your miles pile up the hop gets worse.
This is my wifes car with 75000 miles on it but it has done tis since new. Dealer finds no suspension or wheel issues.
Theine: I do most of my boat biz between Stuart and Key Largo. The weather here (Annapolis) is not bad now but was a tough winter.
Since I use 3 sets of tires in a weekend I can't give my bride musch sympathy.
