W205 Aftermarket 19 Inch Wheel Offsets?
I have a 2015 C300 4Matic with stock 17" wheels (17x7 ET 48.5, on all four corners). I'm looking to upgrade to Blaque Diamond F-18's 19x8.5 all around (not staggered).
On the Element Wheels website it shows 2 offset options that are "guaranteed" to fit: ET40 & ET45. I'm looking for the front and back to be as even and flush with the bodywork as possible from front-to-back. With the stock setup, the front wheels "stick out" closer to the bodywork than the rears. I'm not sure if the bodywork is a bit wider in the rear or the overall "axle" width is narrower in the rear, but I get the following measurements using a tape measure from the face of the wheel to the outermost surface of the top fenderlip of the bodywork:
Front: 3/4"
Rear: 1-1/4"
So, clearly the rear wheels are inset deeper into the body wheel-well than the front. So, my question is, to try to correct this difference, should I go with ET40 in front and ET45 in the rear?
Am I thinking correctly? Looking for opinions or experiences
